The immune system
Our immune system is our line of defence against illness and we need to make it a priority to keep it in good condition. A liquid called lymph flows through our bodies through a chain of capillaries. There are groups of lymph nodes in places such as behind the ears, under the arms, in the groin and behind the knees, and it is these nodes that receive this lymph and cleanse it of its impurities. When the lymph is flowing properly our body is well protected against invaders.
Unlike the heart which pumps the blood, there is no pump to send the lymph around the body so it is through physical activity that it functions and we can avoid overloading it by adopting a healthy lifestyle. Massage, ear candling, energy therapy and exercise are all great at creating movement in the lymphatic system, along with keeping hydrated and eating healthily.
How the candles work on the immune system
During a treatment, the warmth of the candle spirals down and stimulates the body’s immune system as it burns. The warmth of the flow stimulates the circulatory and lymphatic systems and increases the immune defence making it a whole body treatment.
- Stimulates and improves lymphatic drainage to the head and neck helping to eliminate waste material from the body.
- Improves blood flow to the head and neck, increasing distribution of oxygen and nutrients to nourish the tissues and encourage healing.
Help give your immune system a boost and strengthen your overall well-being by having regular ear candling sessions this winter. Book your treatment online here.
